Looking for a Pekingese?
Email me about the kind of Pekingese
you want and please answer these questions in your email.
-
How much are you prepared to pay me for your Peke? (This is
the smallest expense you'll have to pay in the life of your dog.)
-
How much are you prepared to pay for your Peke during its
life: food, vet bills, grooming, kenneling?
-
Have you ever had a dog before? Have you had a Pekingese?
Tell me about it.
-
Where will your Peke live? Do you have a fenced in yard?
(You need a fenced in yard.)
-
If you have young children living with you or who visit, do
they know how to care for and handle a small dog? Some dogs don't like
children or people or other pets till they get used to them...and sometimes
never.
-
Do you have other animals? If so, how many and what species?
Do you think they'll accept your new dog?
-
How will you introduce your children and pets to the new
Peke? How will you try to ensure all eventually are able to live together?
-
Do you have a dog crate in which you can separate the new
Peke?
-
Are you prepared to house-train your new Peke?
-
What if the new Peke urinates in the house? Even after a dog
is potty-trained, he may have an accident once in a while. What will you do
when that happens? In general, how will you train/discipline your Peke?
-
Is the color of your new Peke important? It shouldn't be a
factor at all because color has nothing to do with personality and health
and those are the things you should be concerned with first and foremost.
But what color would you prefer?
-
Do you want a male or a female? Show dog, breeding or
companion only?
-
If for any reason, your new Peke doesn't work out, you must
return him to me. If within 1 month, I'll give you a full refund.

These guys found some very happy homes.
 |
Karen had recently lost one of her young
Peke companions, Chester, to cancer. She visited our web site, sent me
an inquiry and when she didn't receive a response, she emailed me
again. (The first email got over-looked.) I emailed her some pictures
and Karen thought Loren looked nice. When she saw him in real life it
was love at first sight. |
 |
And as you can see, Loren
- now renamed Teddy, got a new wonderful life in MN with
gal pal, Cupid, Buddy, and another little friend.
Teddy seems to be saying to the little girl "I'll trade you my
blanket for your bottle." |

Sugar caught the eye of a fellow Pekingese
exhibitor at a show in Mason City. Sugar now lives in WI and is
currently studying agility!. |

DennyCrane found his forever home in
Sacramento, CA where he has a "sister," Princess. |
|
 |
Mercedez loves her new mama. Gloria
& Smitty brought Mercedez to Colorado to be a little sister to
brother Montana. |

Stella is in her new
home in Virginia. We hope she has a wonderful full life with Deb and
her family. |
 |
Zach sez he's ready to
go to the clinic today and be 'Clinic Dog' for his owner, Dr. Lani
Vincent. For dental care, Zach chews exclusively on raw sheep bones.
His teeth are sparkling white. |
 |
Here's another picture of
pretty Zach amongst some flower petals. Zach and Sox moved to
Nashville. |
 |
And here's Sox...the
bird dog! I gave Sox to my sister. Over the course of about 4 years,
he developed a bad skin condition that was too difficult and expensive
for my sister and her family to cope with. So I took him back. He
stayed at my house for about a week. He fell right into our routine
very well and got along just fine with the other dogs. Then Lani
graciously said she'd keep him for a couple months so she could figure
out a good regimine of meds and baths that would help Sox the most.
Lani fell in love with Sox and when I asked her if she'd like to keep
him, she said YES! This is not only a story of what a great vet and
friend I have in Lani, but also of how "older" dogs can and
do THRIVE in second homes. Most Pekes, and probably most dogs, are
very adaptable. Don't be afraid to open your home to an older, needy
dog from the Humane Society or some Rescue Group. |
 |
My good friends, Jeanne and Bob H. from Arizona lost their beloved
Peke HoHo. They got him from me about 13 years ago. He lived a
wonderful life with them. They took care of his every need and believe
me...he had plenty! Gilda, now renamed Rosie, certainly
has a rosy future ahead of her with such doting owners.
Jeanne informs me that Rosie is enjoying herself immensely in sunny
AZ. She likes going for walks and terrorizing the neighborhood
bitches. She's the alpha bitch

 |
Here is YoYo (former
show dog, now dog of leisure) and his friend, Spooky in their front
yard in Estes Park, CO. How'd you like THAT for a view each morning?
Spectacular! Thanks Ken and Donna. YoYo looks beautiful. |
 |
"C'mon mom, can I open it
now?" That's what Shadow seems to be saying to his owner,
Lucille. |
 |
These two hunks are Buster
and Rascal owned by Scott and Lisa S. |

Please consider adopting a rescue Peke
from the PCA or a nice
dog of any breed from your local humane society.
